The 10-Year Homecoming: Jess is Finally Back!

Imagine your cat goes missing. You look everywhere. Years pass. You think a fox got them. This happened to John and Liz back in 2012. Their sweet cat Jess vanished from their home. They were heart-broken. But then 2021 rolled around. A vet called on Liz’s birthday. It was a total miracle.

A lady had found Jess and took her in to get fixed. But the vet saw a scar. Jess was already fixed. He checked her microchip. And there it was. John and Liz’s info from a whole decade ago! Honestly, I can’t imagine the shock. It is a mystery where she was for ten years.

Now she is back home. But she likes the wild life now. She insists on sleeping in the garden shed. John even put soft beds in there for her. She comes inside when it gets cold in the winter. There are a few hisses with the other cats. But that is normal. It just goes to show you. Never lose hope. Cats are tough. And they always remember their people.

Why We Love This

As a dad to five cats, I know how much a missing pet hurts. I still worry if one of my boys is out of sight for five minutes. To get a cat back after ten years is just incredible. I love that John respects her new outdoor personality too. He made her a cozy spot in the shed instead of forcing her to stay on the couch. That is true cat dad love. It shows that even if they change, they are still our babies.
